my intention

my intention is to sit on my pillow
focus on my breath
connect to the part of myself that is quiet
and forgotten most of the day

my intention is to be with my child
play with him
listen to him and react appropriately
enriching his life while he enriches mine

my intention is to take time for myself
to learn and grow and to be me
my intention is to hold everyone safe
my intention is to give back to the world
my intention is to write something fantastic
my intention is to . . . aaaahhhhhh

the truth
on my meditation pillow I do a lot of fighting, with my thoughts, my stiff body, my life

with my son I try to listen, play and be interested but a calculator (his favorite toy) is not that fun, to me

the time for myself usually ends up being on the couch with the remote switching between Hollywood trash and stupid sitcom

all this comes down to
trying and percents
fifty percent of my intention - good
zero percent - try harder

you can't run away from your karma
I'm not sure what that means but it seems to give me a little freedom not to be perfect
